yum.repos.d for CentOS boxen that trust me

Primary LanguageShell

== Dayne's yum stuff
yum.repos.d directories for CentOS (and perhaps others)

##########################################################################
# I NO LONGER MAINTAIN THIS --- PROBABLY SHOULD NOT USE THIS #
##########################################################################

== Goals here:
  * direct my CentOS servers/workstations at my own mirrors
  * include 3rd party repos (RPMForge crew mostly)
  * enabled/disable my own approved parts of the sources
  * install a few packages I feel are required

== Installing the repo:

bash < <( curl http://github.com/dayne/yum/raw/master/tools/sysconfig.sh )

  * pull down the repository
    > svn co http://svn.github.com/dayne/yum
  * go to the appropriate distro version (RHEL5 example:)
    > cd yum/centos5
  * install the yum.repos.d
    > ./install.sh

== Maintaining this:
  > cd /etc/yum.repos.d
  > svn up     # re-syncronize
  > svn status # see what files you've modified locally

== Notes about doing this:
  * does not remove/destroy your default files
    backed up as: /etc/yum.conf.default and /etc/yum.repos.default
  * uses the yum-protectbase plugin for additional safety
