Pinch zoom not centering on users fingers

Is this a known issue or potentially something with my implementation?

When zooming in with two fingers the image always seems to be centered so it's zooming off and away, but not in a consistent direction - ie two finger zooming in the center appears to center correctly, but two finger zooming in the bottom right corner zooms the image off to the top left
