/Multivariate-Analysis-with-R

This study is to see the variables that are unique to 7 different species of fish. These observations were chosen at random. The data comprises the biological measurements taken from seven different species of fish caught in Finland. The observed random variables of interest are: • Len1 – Length from the nose to the beginning of the tail (cm) • Len2 – Length from the nose to the notch of the tail (cm) • Len3 – Length from the nose to the end of the tail (cm) • Height – Maximal height, as a percentage of the total length (Len3) • Width – Maximal width, as a percentage of the total length (Len3), and • Weight – Weight of the fish (grams)

Multivariate Analysis on Fish Species image

This project seeks to explore ways in which we can distinguish species of fish based on their measurements and see how they differ and all of this will be accomplished using multivariate analysis techniques.

Why Fish?

Multivariate Analysis is a perfect match for the robust and complex systems seen in modern biology, with it we can establish relationships between many biological variables that exist around us hence allowing us to establish patterns and make educated guesses or theories, I also like fishes so why not.

What are your findings?

In the doc attached I document the relationships between these variables extensively, please check it out
