stddevI taking too long?

Hello, I am using wiggletools 1.2.11
I am trying to run stddevI on a .wig file with the following command:
wiggletools stddevI wig_file.wig
My wig_file is an 34 MB IP/INPUT signal over the S.cerevisiae genome.
The meanI command runs extremely fast (within seconds), whereas stddevI has been running for over 40 minutes without any error message.
Any idea what the issue might be?
