Fedoraloader doesnt work

Opened this issue · 20 comments

Whenever i try to use fedoraloader, it just doesnt work. I press left mouse button 2 times,it shows me a pop-up, where i can press yes or no, i press yes and it doesnt do anything, doesnt open the game, steam or inject fware. Previously it worked just fine, but recently it stopped working

And what does the pop-us say?

"Do you want this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device"

I see. Are you using the latest Fedoraloader release?

i even tried downloading it again

Alright, could you please send me the following:

  • Your exact windows version
  • Debug log (Run the loader with the -debug launch argument and copy the console output)

Also make sure that you antivirus isn't blocking the loader (add an exception if necessary)

I have windows 11, and the an exception is added for the antivirus, although i dont understand what you mean by a "debug log"

Open a terminal window in the same location as Fedoraloader and run .\Fedoraloader.exe -debug

Also, I noticed that you didn't mention the tray menu. Did you check that there is no Fedoraloader icon when expanding the tray menu?

Tray Menu

fedoraloader is in the tray menu

whats supposed to happen when i do it?

It should look like this:
https://streamable.com/x7bgfg

it does everything except the "zip file detected" and "closing Steam and TF2"

lnx00 commented

So it stops after downloading the file? Are you able to access the download URL manually?

https://nightly.link/Fedoraware/Fedoraware/workflows/msbuild/main/Fedoraware.zip

my browser blocks the link

That's most likely the issue. Are you able to access it through a VPN?

i found a way to download the file, now what?

do i run the code again?

Fedoraloader uses this URL to download the latest Fedoraware build. If it can't access the URL, the loader fails.

If you want to use the manually downloaded file, you can do so by running: .\Fedoraloader.exe -file "Path/To/Your/File.dll"

i did that, and still nothing happens
