This gem hooks into sprockets classes (namely Sprockets::Environment and Sprockets::Index) to intercept queries for assets and enables the end user to provide the system with virtual assets – the assets which only refer to other files, but do not have a representation on the file system.
The user is also responsible for providing a callback which prepares virtual asset content when invoked from Rack middleware – this is needed to make assets function in production environment.
