What I'm trying to do

    • Record a video with live narration

Error Message

  • Occurs immediately when I attempt to record
NVENC Error: Unsupported device. Check your video card supports NVENC and that the drivers are up to date.

What I've tried:

  1. Verified my GPU does support NVENC via:
    1. This guide
    2. And this list
  2. Verified that my GPU is available in Device manager
  3. Verified that its drivers are up to date in Device manager > Display Adapters
  4. Verified that the GPU is operating correctly via Device manager
  5. Installed any driver updates available for my GPU from NVIDIA's website:
    1. Installed Game Ready Driver (GRD): 474.14-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe
    2. Studio Driver: None available
  6. Verified the GPU is not being disabled by the Windows system power settings
  7. Verified in BIOS that the GPU is selected as the primary graphics processor and that the correct slot was selected
  8. Verified that the issue persists in safe mode
  9. Verified motherboard using the latest version of BIOS
  10. Verified problem persists when attempting to record with each of the settings at: Settings > Output > Recording > Encoder
  11. Software (x264)
  12. Hardware (QSV, H.264)
  13. Hardware (NVENC,H.264)
