Building machine readable versions of basic government documents.
Initially we just had a very, very crappy PDF - which we have included in this repo for posterity. Took a while to parse out all the spaces to get something somewhat useful.
Only after creating this repository, did we discover these:
Which had in them the data from that outdated PDF. We've incorporated the some of the delimited text files from this dataset with version control so that you can easily see what's changed in the 2 years.
There are also other pieces of data on government Chart of Accounts that may be worth collecting:
- Authority codes list as per the Government-wide Chart of Accounts
- Open.Canada.ca List of Chart of Accounts
Of course there are also the GoC: Goods and Services Identification Number which will be replaced by the The United Nations Standard Products and Services Code® (UNSPSC®) in 2017. The two are mapped GSIN to UNSPSC or GSIN to UNSPSC(on open.canada.ca).
