Create a release body from commit messages
This action asks ChatGPT to create a release message from your commit messages.
Requirements
This action requires an OpenAI token in the environment variable OPENAI_API_KEY
. You also need to pass a github token in the variable GITHUB_TOKEN
. Note that you can normally use ${{secrets.GITHUB_TOKEN}}
for this, which is automatically set.
Usage
Add the following entry to your Github workflow YAML file with the required inputs.

Build and Test this Action Locally
- Install the dependencies:
$ npm install
- Build the typescript and package it for distribution:
$ npm run build && npm run package
- Run the tests:
$ npm test
