HAWG - The Human Atlasing Working Group - example JSON atlas header files

The idea of these examples is to create a common JSON header file format that describes the labels and metadata in an atlas such that re-use and integration between atlases is more easily possible across multiple software packages.

There is currently no intention to change or specify the format of the atlas files themselves (Nifti-1, MINC, NRRD, etc) but rather just the descriptive metadata.

For maximum compatibility with most of the software tools we strongly suggest Nifti-1.

See also https://github.com/stity/atlas-schema for some first work on a json schema of the format specification.
