  • What you'll learn: This workshop focuses on the features and configuration options that are tested on the certification exam
  • What you'll build: You'll gain hands-on experience enabling and customizing GHAS features for a few repositories as an organization administrator

📣 Prerequisites

Before joining the workshop, there are a few items that you will need to complete and prepare for:

  • Complete the GitHub Advanced Security Learning Path (~5.5 hours)
  • Create a free account on github.com
    • Note: This account cannot be from a GitHub Enterprise Server environment, nor a GitHub Enterprise Cloud Enterprise Managed Users environment

Learning Objectives

In this workshop, you will:

  • Discover GHAS (GitHub Advanced Security) features and which roles and permissions are required to manage the features.
  • Gain hands-on experience enabling and customizing GHAS features: Dependency Review, Secret Scanning and Code Scanning, using GitHub Actions.
  • Understand the value that GHAS features add to developer experience for organizations that aim to ship secure, quailty code and increase productivity.
