Do not run monolingual if you are a developer and/or have external disks on Catalina

Running Monolingual on previous versions of macOS was fine and monolingual would only remove language files from applications and system on the main disk.

Running it on Catalina is like an atomic bomb. It will remove language files on your Xcode projects in all disks. Total destruction.

So, if you are a developer don't run Monolingual until you can have control over what is deleted. Be aware that apps and projects stored on any disks you may have will also be deleted.

You can specify the locations in which Monolingual looks for language files in the preferences. Did you use the default or have you customized the settings?

I did not mean the languages or architectures, but the Preferences dialog (⌘,).

Catastrophe!! I ran monolingual (MacPro 2012 High sierra). Monolingual stopped when removing architecture. I tried to restart the Mac, but it shows the "start apple" only and the bar runs the full length (very slowly) but then nothing else. Tried everything else but the mac seems to hang eternally. Help!!!!!!!!!!!
