CMSC828D A4 - US Covid-19 State-wise Statistic Dashboard (experiment datalogging version)

Setup:

  1. Clone the repo with: git clone https://github.com/JerryGQian/CMSC828D-A4.git
  2. Make sure all dependencies are installed: psycopg2
  3. Start up the server: python server.py, this should initialize the database and server the dashboard at http://localhost:8000/. Read below before visiting the dashboard!

Experiment:

  1. The experiment will be an open ended exploration of the dashboard. You will be able to play around with the interactions and compare Covid data between states. Whenever you discovered something interesting from the visualizations, type your discovery into the What I discovered... text input and click the purple submit button. Please explore for at least 5 minutes and try to report any discovery, big or small. Have fun with the exploration! The experiment begins when you open the dashboard at http://localhost:8000/.
  2. After 5 minutes or when you are done, the dashboard portion of the experiment is over and log.txt should be generated. You can close the website.
  3. Please complete the survey.txt answering a few simple questions in file.
  4. Send me your log.txt as well as survey.txt with your completed survey responses via email: jerry@qian.ninja
