This program reads a file containing population data. It calculates and prints out their statistical measures (average, median, variance, and standard deviation) in the terminal.
This part contains instructions on how to make use of our program.
To use this program, you need to have the latest version of Go installed in your system then follow the steps below:
Step 1: Clone the repository.
Step 2: Navigate into the directory.
git clone https://github.com/yourusername/your-repo-name.git
cd math-skills
Step 3: Create a file named data.txt and populate it with your data values line by line.
Step 4: Run the program as shown.
$ go run your-program.go data.txt
The program computes the following statistics:
- Average: The mean of the data values.
- Median: The middle value when the data values are sorted.
- Variance: The average of the squared differences from the mean.
- Standard Deviation: The square root of the variance.
