WARNING: the code here is a WORK-IN-PROGRESS and is NOT done.
This repository will contain the code for the upcoming HTTP interactions which will replace how Bloxlink handles commands in the future. This is accomplished by running a web server that handles all interaction commands instead of a websocket which is what the current version of Bloxlink does.
Running this is relatively simple, but is different depending on whether you're running it on your own computer (local) or in a production environment.
First, make sure you created a Discord application and noted down the Public Key.
- Rename
config.py.example
toconfig.py
. Modify the config file with your Discord Public Key. - Run the SSH command:
ssh -R 80:localhost:8000 localhost.run
. This will tunnel your local traffic from the bot and spit out an https domain name that you will use. - Run the web server:
python3.8 src/bot.py
- Put the https domain name found from step 2 in your Developer Dashboard Application under the "Interactions Endpoint Url" option.
Disclaimer: https://localhost.run is a great service that can quickly tunnel your local traffic, but their free plan will periodically change your domain name, requiring you to change the domain name in your Developer Dashboard each time. As such, it's recommended to subscribe to their premium plan to use a static domain, or you can find another tunneling service.
Instructions are coming soon.
