This repository is intended to provide an easy interface for programatically accessing the song information stored on Genius.com. Check out my blog post for a more thorough description of the package and its usage.
Start by cloning this repo:
git clone https://github.com/johnwmillr/GeniusLyrics.gitTo use the Genius API you'll need to sign up for a (free) client that authorizes you to access their API. The genius module will look for a credentials.ini file in the GeniusLyrics directory cloned from this repository. The credentials.ini file is just a text file in the following format with your Genius.com API credentials filled in:

client_id: your-client-id
client_secret: your-client-secret
client_access_token: your-access-token
You can read through the Genius API docs, but I've found it more helpful to start by looking at code folks have already written for the API. I found this post from @jackschultz and this repository from @JasonQNg real helpful while getting started, check their work out.
- Clone this repo:

cd GeniusLyrics - Install using pip:
pip install .
