This simple stock app allows you to enter a full or partial symbol or company name, and then see its exchange data and the current average historical prices for the last trading month.

To get this app up and running, follow the instructions below:

This app runs on the current version of Ruby and Rails. Please see the documentation if you do not have them currently set up on your computer.

Clone the repo into an appropriate folder on your local machine, then change directories (‘cd’) to the file.

Prep the app by running this command ‘bundle install’

Copy the following into your command line
‘ be rake db:create && be rake db:migrate && be rake db:import’
It may take a few moments, but you should see the migration process, and then be notified how many companies from each exchange file are being imported.

Go ahead and start the rails server to get the localhost running by using ‘rails s’

Open a browser (perferably Chrome) and input the url: localhost:3000/
