A digital collection of websites around the world-wide web that have inspired me.
This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app
. The application has a GraphQL endpoint that when given a list of websites, generates screenshots and returns the screenshots along with descriptions of the site. The NPM package get-image-colors
and capture-website
are used to generate screenshot from websites and the main colors of a site.
First, run the development server:
npm run dev
# or
yarn dev
Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.
You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.js
. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.
Currently, the list of websites featured in the gallery is in websites.yml. If you'd like to submit a website for consideration you can open a pull request here.
If you are forking this to create your own website-gallery
then you should replace the data in the websites.yml to reflect the websites you would like to feature.

Note: Currently there is a bug 🐛 where images are only generated locally. In order to deploy a functional site whenever adding additional sites the the site should either be deployed from CLI after running locally and visiting the homepage.
