Does mimic-extract start from ICU or Hospital admission?

Hi,

I run MIMIC-Extract and extract the patients first 24 hours data. However, I wonder that this 24 hour is the first 24 hours in ICU or in Hospital stay? Should I check the ICUSTAY Intime or HADM ADMITTIME for extracting patient other information?

Unfortunately, there can be some variability here. The safest thing is to use the later of the two, which will vary in each case. Then you'll be sure to only capture things from the start of the ICU stay. Does that answer your question?
