Derivative Properties
Sum Rule

📌 $f(x) = u(x) + v(x)$$f´(x) = u´(x) + v´(x)$

Difference Rule

📌 $f(x) = u(x) - v(x)$$f´(x) = u´(x) - v´(x)$

Product Rule

📌 $f(x) = u(x) . x(x)$$f´(x) = u(x).v´(x) + u´(x).v(x)$

Quotient Rule

📌 $f(x) = \frac{u(x)}{v(x)}$$f´(x) = \frac{u´(x).v(x) - u(x).v´(x)}{[v(x)]^2}$

Chain Rule

A method for finding the derivative of a composition of functions.

The formula is $\frac{d}{dx}f[g(x)]=f'[g(x)]g'(x)$.

Another form of the chain rule is $\frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{dy}{du}\frac{du}{dx}$.
