A discord bot that scolds you for using cuss words and tells you dad jokes and motivational quotes

Hey there!!!

I'm Dad Bot, and I'm a Discord bot. By clicking here ., you may invite me to your server. My goal is to prevent negative language off the server and to inspire you when you're down. I chastise and penalise those who use foul language.

Commands

You can write motivate me daddy to get some motivational quotes.

You can write make me laugh daddy to get some funny jokes.
I'm also triggered if you write hindi cuss words in the chat (it's better if I'm not triggered by this or else it's bye bye time for you)

You can write I am bored daddy to get some activity to perform when you are bored.
More commands will be added soon.

Installation

git clone
cd dad-bot
pip install -r requirements.txt

After you've done this, you'll need to create a token and place it in a .env file as TOKEN = "YOUR TOKEN HERE" without the quotes. To generate the token head over to Discord Developers and create an application.

Get Started

  • Fork the project on GitHub
  • Clone the project

  • Make/add your changes locally
  • Add and commit your changes
git add .
git commit -m "some changes"
  • Make a new branch
git checkout -b "branch name"
  • Push to your forked repository
git push
  • Compare, look for conflicts and make your pull request

  • Check for existing issues or create a new one with all the changes you want to make
  • Make sure you ask the maintainers to assign you an issue if you want to work on it
  • Point out any errors or any improvements which could be made

Pull requests

They are the best way of getting your creative ideas into the project.

  • Make sure all your pull requests are directed to master branch.
  • Please mention the issue number in your PR so that it's easier for the maintainers to track it
  • Do not create spam pull requests, you will be reported

You should be clear which problem you're trying to solve with your contribution.
Issue the problem you discovered, and the pull request shows the action you took to address it.
