Recently, big tech has seemed to become increasingly untrustworthy and unreliable, there's been a renewed focus on privacy-centric applications. With Google killing longstanding products, Reddit's API hikes, and Twitter arbitrarily banning accounts, it's getting harder to trust companies with your valuable data.
Well, you can't get anymore privacy-first than not connecting to the internet at all.
It's also important to remember that just having access to high-speed internet is sadly a privilege – not a right – for most people. As a result, I started compiling a list of offline-first alternatives to popular web software.
