mc-plus

What is this?

This is a Minecraft 1.17 'Plus' modpack designed to enrich the features vanilla version delivers. This has been specifically created to be used on our server! A detailed list of the mods and their content can be found below.

Server?

That's right! This is a formal invitation to join us on a way too ambitious server designed to create a fun community for everyone to play on. This server will contain both English and Dutch speaking people, so keep this in mind.

To start your journey, please look at the installation guide below. Also read through the rules and guidelines of the server. We want to have a friendly and healthy community, and so we ask everyone to follow these. Violations of these rules will result in anywhere from a simple warning to a temp ban or even a perma ban. Ofcourse we don't want to restrict any creativity or social interactions between our players, so if you don't agree with one of these or you thought of a rule that should be put in place, be sure to let us know. Either by sending me (Snil#4013) or Classy Beaver (Classy Beaver#0488) a DM on Discord or by adding an issue to this repo (if you know how this works of course).

To protect our server, we use whitelisting, so if you want to join, please send me a message with your Minecraft username and we will add you to our server and send you the IP.

Installation

To join the server, you should have the mods found in this repo installed. Below you can find the different ways to install these into your client. You can download the mods by pressing the green button in the upper right corner. image

Then press Download ZIP and put the mods folder from this zip in your Minecraft folder (Follow the tutorial below for this). You can just delete the README file.

MultiMC (recommended)

Multimc is a program where you can have multiple Minecraft installations together. Please follow this guide. If you run into any problems, be sure to let one of the admins know.

Minecraft Launcher (easier for people who have never used mods)

This is the default Minecraft launcher, the installation guide can be found here. If you run into any problems, be sure to let one of the admins know.

Setting up the voice chat

When loading into the server, the first thing you should do is set up your voicemod.

  1. Go into Options > Controls and search for the Voice Chat GUI control and remember this key (default is v).

  2. Go back into the game and press this key. A window like the one below should pop up. image

  3. Go into these settings and press the Select microphone button. Here you can select your microphone.

  4. Next you should test if your microphone works by clicking the enable microphone button.

Now you should be all set up!

Rules & Guidelines

  • Griefing and stealing from other players is not allowed, this can result in a ban.
  • Any kind of hate speech or genuine disrespect towards other players will not be tolerated.
  • RDM (Random Deathmatch) is not allowed on the server. This doesn't mean PvP is not allowed.
  • No hacking or exploiting (e.g. item duping), this can result in a ban.
  • Limit the use of automated farms (especially mobfarms), they are allowed but be sure to ask an admin first (too many farms will cause tps issues / lag).

Features

Voice Chat!

Communicate with other players through in-game proximity voice chat. The voice chat is a big part of the magic of this server and I hope this can lead to some fun interactions/RP. This voice chat also has a feature where you can start a group voice chat just like discord, for people who don't want to play alone.

Central Town / Hub

The goal is to create a nice world where everyone plays together nicely, this is why we will build a nice town close to spawn where everyone can build what they want.

Main Mods

This is a list of the most important mods in the modpack. These mods are designed to elevate the Minecraft experience, not make it into a futuristic nuke-fest.

Adorn is a simple mod that adds some simple decorations to Minecraft.

Appleskin adds some UI improvements for hunger.

Comforts adds sleeping bags and hammocks to the world of Minecraft.

Coptopia adds a bunch of crops and foods.

Gates of Babylon adds new weapons and shields to the game.

This mod adds... well... more structures.

Rougly Enough Items is a mod that adds a list of craftable blocks to the side of your inventory, make sure to check the mod website if you have never used such a mod before because it's very powerful.

This adds an in game proximity chat voice mod to be able to speak to eachother.

This mod adds in graves that keep your stuff safe when you die.

Adds a minimap to your HUD.

A survival-friendly way of fast-traveling.

The name says it all.
