Evaluate Ceph Storage as MinIO alternative and ownCloud block storage

We are experiencing pretty poor performance with MinIO, just running mc du my-bucket/ takes an hour to complete with +50k files. I have asked for a evaluation/OSS license to get access to MinIO SUBNET which includes some tools for performance testing, but not yet received an answer.
Related to the comment from @ar9708 on #13 and the performance issues above, I think it would be a good idea to evaluate Ceph Storage as the way to go for both object and block storage.
