airline_delay_Kaggle
This is a simple model for predicting the delay of flights using a few newly created features, based mostly on time. The most important feature is "datetime_full" is the days counter and one_hot_encoding "is_winter" or "is_holiday". I used XGBoost for training, where I set hyperparameters with n_estimators = 1000 and learning_rate = 0.16 by trial and error. I deliberately did not use hyperopt because it took too much resources and time. This model allowed me to take 4th place in the competition
