Screen freezes after pressing play in main menu

- Game Version: 1.1.12.201
- OWML Version: v2.5.2
- NomaiVR Version: v2.7.0
- VR hardware: Oculus Quest 2 connected to pc via wired link / windows 10
VR in main menu works fine but when I press play (I'm trying a new game but it does not work with continue game either) the screen freezes but I can still hear the game running.

Checked the logs and OWML keeps saying Warning: Kinematic body only supports Speculative Continuous collision detection

fixed it just had to launch game from desktop
