Yoram Gnat's Keter YG Hebrew typeface with minor typographical features added
This project is a fork of https://github.com/ibleaman/Keter-YG. As the changes made in this fork are motivated by a very specific use case, they are limited to the upright, medium-weight style of the font. This fork differs from the original project in that it uses a more recent version (.103yg) of the Keter YG Medium font and incorporates the following changes:
- Improved positioning of vowel points, especially for yod, lamed, and qof.
- Improved positioning of holam.
- Handling of the placement of hiriq after another base point and before a final mem (as in the Masoretic spelling of Jerusalem) have been changed from a contextual positioning lookup in the
mark
feature set to a contextual ligature lookup in theccmp
feature set, as the positioning lookup does not appear to work in ConTeXt. There is also a precedent for using ligatures to accomplish this effect in the SBL Hebrew font. - Added support for furtive patah positioning to the
calt
(contextual alternates) feature set. - Added support for the merging of holam with a following shin dot or preceding sin dot to the
dlig
(discretionary ligatures) feature set.
Warning: The new features described above have not been tested extensively with cantillation marks and puncta extraordinaria! Any assistance with this is welcome. Feel free to fork this repository and make changes as you see fit.
