Shipping Cost Calculator

Purpose

The Shipping Cost Calculator is a Java command-line application designed to calculate the total cost of an order, considering factors such as the order amount, selected shipping method (standard or express), and any applicable discounts. This tool provides a simple and convenient way to estimate the total cost of an order.

Install

To install and run the Shipping Cost Calculator, you will need Java SDK (ideally Java 17) to installed on your system.

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine.
  2. Navigate to the project directory using the command line.
  3. Build the application using Gradle: ./gradlew jar
  4. Run the application with: java -jar build/libs/shipping-calculator-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar

Usage

  1. Upon running the application, you'll receive a friendly welcome message.
  2. Enter the cost of your order when prompted. Ensure that you input a valid decimal number (e.g., 12.0).
  3. Select your preferred shipping method when prompted. You can choose either "standard" or "express."
  4. The application will calculate the total cost of your order, including shipping fees and any applicable discounts.
  5. The calculated total cost will be displayed on the screen.
