/sonar

Development repository for Sonar cookbook

Primary LanguageShell

Description

Installs Sonar, an open source platform for Continuous Inspection of code quality via coverage reports.

Requirements

Platforms

  • CentOS 5/6
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux 5/6
  • Fedora

Cookbooks

  • database
  • postgresql

Attributes

This cookbook assumes that you'll install Sonar into /opt, but this is configurable.

Other common user-serviceable parts:

  • node['sonar']['web_port'] - The port on which Sonar's Jetty should listen.
  • node['sonar']['web_context'] - The web context under which to serve Sonar. '/sonar' is the default, but '/' could work too.

Sonar requires the use of an SQL database. If you use the local_database recipe (below), these variables will be set for you:

  • node['sonar']['jdbc_url'] - JDBC URL at which Sonar's database can be found.
  • node['sonar']['jdbc_username'] - JDBC username for the aforementioned database
  • node['sonar']['jdbc_password'] - JDBC password for the aforementioned database
  • node['sonar']['jdbc_driver'] - JDBC driver class to use

Recipes

default

Does nothing.

server

Download and unpack Sonar into /opt, set up filesystem permissions, write out a Sonar config file, start it up as a service.

local_database

Sets up a local PostgreSQL database for Sonar to talk to.

Roadmap

  • Support databases other than PostgreSQL.
  • Support databases on machines other than "localhost".
  • Add an apache (or nginx) proxy recipe.
  • Figure out how to segregate Sonar's logs, webapp deploy area, etc. into more standard locations than under /opt. For example, logs should really go in /var/log on a UNIX system.
