A web app that lets hosts offer up a list of spaces to rent and lets renters rent them out

Getting started

  1. Clone this repo git clone git@github.com:Sindex42/MakersBnB.git
  2. Change directory cd MakersBnB
  3. Run bundle to install dependencies bundle install

Setting up the databases

  1. Install postgresql brew install postgres
  2. Create the development database createdb makers_bnb_development;
  3. Create the test database createdb makers_bnb_test;
  4. Set up the tables db:auto_migrate
  5. Set up the test environment tables db:auto_migrate RACK_ENV=test

Running tests

  1. Run rackup to start the server rackup
  2. Open up a browser and navigate to the following page http://localhost:9292
  3. Run the tests with rspec in the project root folder
  4. Additional code coverage is checked by the use of Travis CI

Future direction

  • Add ability to approve or reject any bookings as a host
  • Implement email notifications for any actions undertaken in the webapp
