ncei-weather-data-downloader

A Python script that downloads global hourly weather data from the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) website.

Merging Indian Stations CSV Files

This repository now contains a new Python script called csv_file_merger_v1.py, which can be used to merge CSV files downloaded using the NCEI_NOAA_Indian_Stations_csv_downloader.py script. This script merges CSV files for each station and stores them in separate CSV files with the name of the station as the filename. To use this script, simply run it using Python: 'python csv_file_merger_v1.py'

Producing CSV file for hourly wind speed

Now using the Python script called hourly_wind_data.py, hourly wind speed data for all the downloaded stations may be filtered out from the downloaded CSV files.

Dependencies

This script requires the dependencies, which are listed in the requirements.txt

These dependencies can be installed using pip, the Python package manager, by running the following command:
pip install -r requirements.txt

Usage

To use this script, clone this repository and run the script using Python:
python ncei-weather-data-downloader.py
The script will scrape links to CSV files from the NCEI website, and then download each CSV file. It will extract the unique values in the STATION column, which represents the name of the weather station, and save each CSV file to a new file with the name of the weather station as the filename.
