Install ioquake3 on macOS

Now Catalina compatible!

- Install ioquake3 (64-bits) with improvements in just one command!

Installation

Copy & paste directly on your Terminal:

curl -L https://git.io/ioq3mac | sh

Ready!

This could take a few minutes. Wait until complete ...

( Probably requires root permissions )

For remove

Just run:

rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Quake3 /Applications/ioquake3

How to extend

For extend ioquake (with a mod for example) you can simply run:

open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Quake3 /Applications/ioquake3

And then just drag and drop required files.

What is this?

"ioquake3 mac install" pretends to be the one unified and most simply way to install quake 3 arena (with improved ioquake3 engine) on mac computers.

This includes a lot of improvements like high quality textures, improved sounds, most knowed mods, etc.

And you can get it working with just one command!

Troubleshooting

"ioquake3.app can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer"

After receive this message go to: System Preferences > Security & Privacy Settings

Click the button: "Open Anyway"
