Hello, I have successfully built and packaged the APK on windows 10 x64 with no issues.

The apk has been installed on a galaxy s9.

Using an FTDI VAG COM cable with usbc to USB OTG adapter.

I cannot seem to get past the FAST INIT step in the communication connection process

I have successfully used this cable to communicate with ECU using Andrew's TD5 MEMSTOOLS/MAPPER software for Windows PC, so I don't believe the issue could be from the cable. (FT232R chip)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

It will definitely be the cable.. I needed to buy two cables. One worked with some python code but not with this android code . I would be interested in the ‘Andrew's TD5 MEMSTOOLS/MAPPER software for Windows PC,’ code . could you post some details on this. I will dig out a link for the cable that works with the android code. Using the software within MEMS3Tools I can successfully read the entire ECU map from my TD5, with the one FTDI VAG COM KKL cable that I have.

Strange that this cable works for the above software, yet not the android app.

I've heard about some issues on Samsung devices. That might be it.
➡️ If you can, give it a try with another brand.

If you're able to use your cable from your FTDI VAG COM KKL cable to interact with the ECU from your PC, I guess there's good chance the cable is fine.
Then you got the USB OTG adapter, which should be fine too as there isn't much things in there that could go wrong apart from broken connectors/cables (you could try to connect something else on it -like a mouse or a keyboard- and see if the mobile device reacts to confirm).
The app is currently working on the devices we've tried it on -apart from some Samsung ones-.
All that's left is the mobile device itself - we had feedbacks about issues with some Samsung phones and tablets that we haven't troubleshooted yet. Their Android system is quite far from the original, they add a lot of their stuff on it, including security-related limitations.
