Getting Started

To set up and run the FaceTracker project, follow these steps:

Installation of Android Studio

  1. Download Android Studio: Visit the Android Studio download page and download the latest version of Android Studio for your operating system.

  2. Install Android Studio: Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install Android Studio.

Opening the Project

  1. Open the Project in Android Studio:

    • Launch Android Studio.
    • Select "Open an Existing Project" from the welcome screen.
    • Navigate to the directory where you have the FaceTracker project and select the project's root folder.
  2. Set Up an Emulator or Connect a Device:

    • You can use the Android Emulator provided by Android Studio or connect a physical Android device to your computer. Follow the instructions in Android Studio's AVD Manager for emulator setup.
  3. Build and Run:

    • Build the project by clicking on the "Build" menu and selecting "Build Project."
    • Run the project on the emulator or connected device by clicking the "Run" button in Android Studio.

Usage

Once the app is running on your emulator or device, you can capture a person's face through the device's camera. The app will then use the Google Detection API to recognize the face and estimate the happiness level. The happiness score will be displayed visually, allowing you to gauge the subject's level of happiness.
