E-Commerce Sales Dashboard

This repository contains the code and design files for a Power BI E-Commerce Sales Dashboard. The dashboard provides valuable insights into sales data, including the total amount, total profit, total orders, top 5 most selling products, monthly profit, sales by product category, type of payment, and profit by city.

Dashboard Features

  1. Total Amount: Displays the overall sales amount over a specified period.
  2. Total Profit: Shows the total profit generated from the sales.
  3. Total Orders: Presents the count of total orders placed.
  4. Top 5 Most Selling Products: Highlights the top 5 products with the highest sales.
  5. Monthly Profit: Illustrates the profit generated on a month-by-month basis.
  6. Sales by Product Category: Visualizes the sales distribution across different product categories.
  7. Type of Payment: Shows the breakdown of sales by different payment methods.
  8. Profit by City: Displays the profit earned from different cities.

Getting Started

To use this dashboard, follow the steps below:

Prerequisites

  • Power BI Desktop: Ensure you have Power BI Desktop installed on your machine.
  • Sales Data: You will need the sales data in a compatible format (e.g., CSV, Excel) for importing into Power BI.

Installation

  1. Clone this repository to your local machine or download the ZIP file and extract it.
  2. Open Power BI Desktop.
  3. Click on "Open" in the Home tab and navigate to the location where you cloned/downloaded the repository.
  4. Select the Power BI file with the extension .pbix from the repository.
  5. Power BI will open the file, and you can start exploring the dashboard.

Data Preparation

  1. Prepare your sales data in a format compatible with Power BI (e.g., CSV, Excel).
  2. Launch Power BI Desktop.
  3. Click on "Get Data" in the Home tab and select the appropriate data source (e.g., CSV, Excel).
  4. Follow the prompts to import your sales data into Power BI.
  5. Ensure the column names and data types match the ones used in the provided sample dashboard.
  6. Review and apply any necessary transformations or calculations to align the data with the dashboard requirements.
  7. Save the changes to your data model.

Modifying the Dashboard

You can customize the dashboard according to your specific requirements. Here are a few ways to make modifications:

  • Data Source: Update the data source connection to point to your own sales data.
  • Visual Customization: Adjust the visuals, colors, and styles to match your preferences or corporate branding.
  • Additional Visuals: Add new visuals or modify existing ones to display additional insights or metrics.
  • Filters and Slicers: Create or modify filters and slicers to enable interactive exploration of the data.
