Module 3 - Python
The Colorado Board of Elections has given us the task of completing an election audit for a recent local congressional election. For this project we:
- Calcuated the total number of votes cast.
- Compiled a complete lsit of candidates who received votes.
- Calcuated the total number of votes each candidate recieved.
- Calculated the percentage of votes each candidate won.
- Determine the winner of the election based on popualr vote.
- Data Source: election_results.csv
- Software: Python 3.8.3, Visual Studio Code 1.45.1
The analysis of the election shows that:

There were 369,711 votes cast in the election.

The candidates were:
- Charles Casper Stockham
- Diana DeGette
- Raymon Anthony Doane

The candidate results were:
- Charles Casper Stockham received 85,213 votes (23% of votes cast).
- Diana DeGette received 272,892 votes (73.8% of votes cast).
- Raymon Anthony Doane received 11,606 votes (3.1% of votes cast).

The winner of the election was:
- Diana DeGette who received 73.8% of votes cast (272,892 votes).
In addition to the above analysis, the challenge asks us to find:
- The number of votes from each county
- The percentage of votes from each county
- The county that had the highest voter turnout
The additional analysis shows that:
- Jefferson county represented 10.5% of the votes (38,855 votes)
- Denver county represented 82.8% of the votes (306,055 votes)
- Arapahoe county represented 6.7% of the votes (24,801 votes)
- The county that had the highest voter turnout was Denver
