Multi-language on Gazelle?

Closed this issue · 5 comments

Hello guys,
I'm using the gazelle project on a personal tracker, I am very satisfied with the code and with full functionalities, has served me well in almost everything.
I wonder if there is any possibility to create a feature in multi language, in my case, 90% of my users have as their native language Portuguese or Spanish.
Has anyone thought of that possibility, or is there some way to translate the menus?
If you need help I am available for translation into Portuguese.

I support this proposal. If endure language in a separate file or files, I could make a Russian translation

I highly recommend using .MO / .PO files for this type of thing. It'll be the easiest way to separate the languages from the code. Things to think about though are will you eventually support right to left languages or only left to right?

Well, I do not know much about translation systems, you can better explain
the issue you raised?

For the files.MO. PO, I agree that is a good solution.
For those who already work with the development of the Gazelle longer, what
do you think of the idea? The work would be too large as to be impractical?
Or not?

@breake Unfortunately, we don't have the manpower to maintain translations for Gazelle. Even if someone fully translated Gazelle into another language, it wouldn't be long until a number of the translations are out-of-date or completely incorrect. I don't expect to see a multi-language Gazelle in the near or distant future.

I recommend that sites maintain their own translations in-house.

Understand,
Anyway, thanks for the explanation.
