Ordering Sharing System Management

The project consists of designing and implementing an online order management system, where a customer (end user) can choose, order, and pay for his selection from a catalog of products. Let’s take the example of a group of friends going out for a Bowling gathering. Every person can select drinks, snacks, or desserts using his/her own smartphone, and at the end, one person can pay for all, or each person can pay his/her own order, or part of the order.

Architecture

The microservices architecture offers several advantages. Firstly, it enables more targeted scalability, as each service can be developed, deployed, and scaled independently according to needs. Additionally, technological flexibility allows each service to utilize the most suitable technologies for its specific functionality, fostering innovation and efficiency. By breaking the application into autonomous services, maintenance becomes easier, as errors and updates only affect specific services. Moreover, the ability for continuous and granular deployments speeds up the development cycle and reduces risks associated with updates. Finally, the microservices architecture promotes resilience to failures, as isolated services are designed to handle errors autonomously, thus limiting the impact of incidents on the entire application.
