# Adopt a Block - San Francisco
### Teams of businesses and citizens making the city a better place to live
Current status: ON HOLD, need to re-architect the block-overlay for google maps.
This web app applies the “Adopt a Highway” program to city blocks. Citizens and businesses can join teams to sponsor a block. The business sponser and team leaders then become the primary advocates for progress in that sphere. The platform provides a place to notate issues, propose reponses, and organize events.
Future features include the ability to raise money, to interface with Eventbright or another events platform, and to gain the endorsement of the SF city council.
