Classification of interdisciplinary research fields for the „Research Core Dataset“ (Kerndatensatz Forschung)

This repository holds the classification for interdisciplinary research fields as a SKOS representation in Turtle syntax. The classification is available in German only.

Project description

In 2016, the German Council of Science and Humanities issued recommendations on the so-called “Research Core Dataset” (RCD) for the German science system. The RCD is a set of definitions for the standardized reporting and processing of research information by universities and non-university research institutions (i.e. information on research staff, projects, publications etc.). The science council also recommended the development of a so-called list of fields of research to enable the reporting of interdisciplinary, issue- or problem-related research.

The project focuses on the intellectual development of such a classification of research fields to be included in the RCD specification. The development process includes the consultation of relevant stakeholders of the German science system and potential users of the classification. In addition, the project develops recommendations for the integration of the classification into the RCD specification. This in includes the formulation of specific classification rules.

See project description at IBI (available in German only) and project description at DZHW for further details .
