Pepper doesn't say "hello world" even though the application runs and loads

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me with the following issue.

We have just acquired a Pepper robot with Android Studio. I have followed the tutorial guide provided by Softbank

My issue is that when I connect to Pepper and I run the application Pepper doesn't say "Hello Human!" all I get is a blank screen that closes once I stop running the application.

Have any of you ran into this issue? I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
