Who is this for?

Anyone who does not like relative path dots in their asset urls/paths and who does not have a "standard" WordPress installation.

If you have a relative path, the WordPress uploader won't work.

http://example.com/wordpress/../uploads/image.jpg

becomes

http://example.com/uploads/image.jpg
