A one button wifi remote for the popular SJ4000 action camera.

Take pictures, switch modes and record a video from afar with this WiFi enabled remote for the SJ4000 action camera. Feedback of functions is given via LED. Initial camera pairing settings are done by any wifi-capable device with a webbrowser.

The hardware of the device consists of two micro switches, two 470 Ohm pullUp resistors and a single WS2812 status LED to report feedback of the functionality.

This tool makes use of the ubiquitous ESP8266 internet of things chip by Espressif - check out my other repositories to see more things to do with this module.


The source scripts are meant for use with the nodeMCU lua interpreting firmware. Get the latest firmware from their repository (https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-firmware). This code builds on top of revision 0.9.5 of the firmware and does not use floating point operations.
