The US keyboard layout for Windows, with dead keys mapped to AltGr. Stolen from GoogleCode before it died.

Are you tired of tapping the space bar every time you hit the ' key? Compare before and after:

Before = US International After = AltGr dead keys Result
', space ' '
shift+', space shift+' "
', e AltGr+', e é
shift+6, a AltGr+Shift+6, a â
etc. etc. etc.

AltGr is simply the right Alt key on your keyboard. As you see, typing quotation marks becomes faster and typing accents (acute, umlaut, etc.) becomes slower. What do you do more often?

Steps to install this keyboard layout:

  1. If you have installed this keyboard layout before, then remove it using Programs and Features.
  2. Download the layout from the releases page.
  3. Extract the Zip file.
  4. Run the installer (please be patient, it takes a minute to complete).
  5. Follow these steps to change the keyboard layout to United States-International (AltGr dead keys).

It's also recommended to set the input language to "English (United States)". This will help prevent bugs with some apps adding new keyboard layouts randomly.

Works on Windows XP and up.
