eBird-lifers
Working on developing a program/app that will allow a user to input eBird histogram data from hotspots + their life list and generate a tree map showing species most likely to be seen at those locations, based time of year.
jamesRiver-longterm-waterTemps
A project to to combine 15 years of water quality monitoring data and generate daily mean summary statistics for select variables, as well as produce an animated plot depicting seasonal patterns and inter-annual variation in water temperature at VCU's Rice River Center monitoring station, located in the upper estuarine portion of the James River.
lifeList_database
A project to practice building a PostgreSQL spatial database. Using my eBird life list as a starting point, I utilized the eBird API, Open-Meteo API, and IUCN Red List database to acquire additional data and construct four tables: Species, Observations, Locations, and Checklists. I then used these to build a database in PostgreSQL w/ PostGIS.
microcystin-VAreservoirs2023
Code to compare and visualize microcystin levels in several Virginia reservoirs. Includes box whisker and scatter plots to highlight monthly variations and compare littoral versus lacustrine concentrations. I prepared this at the request of Dr. Paul Bukaveckas (VCU Center for Environmental Studies).
modelling-algalBlooms
Analysis and visualization of water monitoring data collected at VCU's Rice River Center. The script models chlorophyll A concentrations as function of different temperature-based ratios (e.g., temp:discharge) using OLS linear regression, as well as one nonlinear model. Work done in support of Dr. Paul Bukaveckas' lab at VCU.
