New name for llama

I think it will be wise to rename llama to something else.
Here a few names:
- golscd
- walk
- navigo
Any ideas?
What's the problems with llama ?
You seem unhappy with it, any try to add "go" in the name.
I would say people would will use it doesn't care about the language.
Lool at alternatives: ranger, nnn ... I have no idea what they use, I tried them and liked them.
I think llama is a pretty good name.
Facebook’s LLaMA is way more popular name)
could be a shorter name, llama is a little bit long to type😂
I think that walk
is a nice name ➕ 1️⃣
I do not know, maybe also possible go4walk
I came here precisely to see if people were considering a name change because of Facebook's Llama. 😄
...And I agree that walk
is a great name. 🚀
Seems like the from source installation method won't work until a new release is published:
❯ go install github.com/antonmedv/walk@latest
go: github.com/antonmedv/walk@latest: github.com/antonmedv/walk@v1.4.0: parsing go.mod:
module declares its path as: github.com/antonmedv/llama
but was required as: github.com/antonmedv/
Unfortunately this renamed project conflicts with https://github.com/google/walk.
It is not =). There is no single registry for names. No npmjs.org. So it means - no conflicts.
Google agrees with me https://www.google.com/search?q=walk+file+manager
@Dialga That project is 4 years old and still has only 65 stars. Not exactly a popular project… It's pretty much unknown in the CLI tools community. In fact, the popular find alternative is called fd
— https://github.com/sharkdp/fd.
Furthermore, if you really want to use that Walk tool as well as Anton Medvedev's Walk, you can — just use an alias.

Yes but that google created project predates yours by two years. I don't use it at all and already use fd
- I'm just pointing it out in case you missed it. My only concern is that there is an AUR package with the name 'walk' already in use by 'walk-git' which this project won't be able to use.

I didn't know about Google's project. Even if I knew about it, would not consider changing my name. Not obligated.
For me only two concerns was:
- not in use in macOS
- not in use in Homebrew
