Portable config and scripts

Repository to store my dotfiles, desktop scripts and tyical packages I install on desktop machines.

Rather than copying and manually syncing with other projets, this repository uses git submodules extensively.

As root:

apt install git make sudo

As normal user:

git clone https://github.com/architek/myfiles.git
cd myfiles
git submodule init
git submodule update --recursive --remote
make dot mbin deb

Update

Getting updates and submodules updates:

git pull
git submodule update --recursive
# To use use the status of the submodule’s remote-tracking branch:
git submodule update --recursive --remote

Switch to zsh shell

chsh -s `grep zsh /etc/shells`
git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/romkatv/powerlevel10k.git $ZSH_CUSTOM/themes/powerlevel10k

For Centos7 which ships a very old zsh, you can only use powerlevel9k

git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/Powerlevel9k/powerlevel9k.git $ZSH_CUSTOM/themes/powerlevel9k

You will need to patch powerlevel9k git status function as described here: Powerlevel9k/powerlevel9k#1251

Please see powerlevel github page on which fonts you need

Fzf

git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/junegunn/fzf.git ~/.fzf
~/.fzf/install
