Setting ASPNETCORE_ENVIRONMENT to the value containg '.' (dot char) gives "Invalid environment setting" error

When hosted by IIS, at

If I remove the dot (and rename settings file accordingly) everything works just fine.

This has nothing to do with dependency injection. Can you move this issue to aspnet/Hosting
