This is a forck of gnome shell extension to mute ads from the spotify linux desktop app just without the icon on the top bar
You can install this extension from https://extensions.gnome.org
Or you can do it by hand, downloading this repository to your local shell extensions folder ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions.
A new icon will appear in the gnome bar. After open the spotify app you should click in the icon and it will be white. This extension will mute your output when spotify plays ads and unmute when the music comes back.
The music icon will change to a tv icon when an ad is been played.
