Issue of using new desktop of Matlab

Summary
There has been a new desktop add-on for MATLAB. Users may have used this add-on since it is enabled in 2024a in default. However, this add-on introduces incompatibility for PsPM.
There has been a first issue of selecting items. Similar to the main GUI, the first item of a list cannot be selected. The video is uploaded here.

This issue is quite a systemic one happening in the new desktop system. Due to its larger text, colleagues may prefer to use this add-on. The issue seems to be caused by some unknown reasons between this new desktop add-on and the Matlab batch system. It may be useful to discuss whether we would encourage users to use this add-on.
This issue is no longer applicable and will not be addressed because users are not encouraged to use the new desktop extension.
